5 hotel chains with 2-bedroom suites that you can book with points
The Internet is full of high-end hotel buyouts. From a villa on stilts in the Maldives to a chic Parisian loft, these drool-worthy properties almost always have one thing in common: no room for families.
So what do you do when a trip includes mom, dad, the kids, and a friend or two? Find a hotel that allows you to book two-bedroom suites with points. This is especially easy in the United States, where such properties may be more common than overseas.
Which hotels have two-bedroom suites that you can book with points? Stick to the following brands.
The best hotel chains with two-bedroom suites
It can be difficult to know which hotel chains offer suites, let alone book them with points. It is highly dependent not only on the chain, but also on the brand, as different brands offer different equipment. The JW Marriott, for example, is known for its upscale luxury rooms, and suites will be marketed and priced accordingly. Other brands, such as Residence Inn by Marriott, offer accommodations for long-term travelers, which means suites will be much easier to find.
The good news is that the more popular chains will have at least one hotel with multi-bedroom suites. The bad news is that most of the time they will cost more – and sometimes a lot more – than a regular room. But there are a few gems to be found if you’re up for a look.
Hilton do not operate a fixed allocation table – instead, the cost of reward nights fluctuates based on demand. It offers standard room exchanges and premium room rewards. You probably won’t find a Hilton hotel with multiple suites offering a standard room exchange, but sometimes the prices you find won’t be too outrageous.
Hilton’s extended stay options, such as Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites, are both more likely to feature hotels with bedrooms.
Hilton’s timeshare brand, Hilton Grand Vacations, is a resort-style option that covers the world. These properties have single rooms, but also focus on larger spaces to accommodate families.
Again, you’ll have to pay the premium room reward rate, but with units up to three rooms, you can appeal to multiple people.
Hyatt no brand reliably offers hotels with two-bedroom suites, but it is possible to find properties that have larger spaces.
With Hyatt, find properties for extended stays; in this case, Hyatt House will be the best option for a reservation. Hyatt operates on a fixed price award table for exchanges, and a suite will likely be considered a “free night in a standard suite”.
These properties are not available everywhere – you will need to search the Hyatt website to find hotels you may be able to book in your destination.
Marriott has a strong timeshare system that offers condo-type hotels, similar to Hilton, that you can book with points. The list of Marriott Vacation Club hotels is long and includes properties all over the world, many of which include expansive lots that feature hotels with two suites.
Hotels such as the Phoenician Residences, a Luxury Collection Residence Club, Scottsdale and Marriott’s Grande Vista can be booked with Marriott Bonvoy points.
You can also try checking out Residence Inn properties, which have two-bedroom suites, but most of the time, they’re available to book with points – cash only.
Choice Hotels is less famous than its peers in the points and miles community, but there’s a lot to like about this rewards program. Unlike other chains, Choice charges a single rate regardless of whether you book the cheapest or the most expensive room.
Not all rooms are available to book with points, but there is a decent selection of mid-range hotels, especially with the Comfort Suites brand.
Wyndham is another undervalued program. While it lacks some of the ultra-enviable properties Hyatt, Hilton, and Marriott have to offer, it charges reasonable rates, which range from 7,500 to 30,000 points per room each night.
Award stays can be found at hotels like the Park Plaza Resort Park City in Utah, a Ramada by Wyndham, and the Club Wyndham Park City.
How to find and book hotels with multiple suites
It can be difficult to find hotels to book with points, especially if you are traveling in a large group and need bedrooms. While this isn’t always a guarantee, Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, Choice, and Wyndham hotels all offer different ways to book larger rooms.
With a little flexibility and the right points, you and your travel group can stay together in one of these spacious rooms.
