Boba Fett’s Book Writing Credit Gives Star Wars Fans Hope For A Cad Bane Cameo
The news that Dave Filoni will be writing an episode for The Book of Boba Fett is raising speculation about the return of a certain Clone Wars character.
Speculation about the involvement of non-executive producer Dave Filoni in Boba Fett’s Book has fans theorizing that a beloved animated bounty hunter could turn into live-action.
A report from Disney leaked to Reddit revealed that while creator Jon Favreau wrote six of the Boba Fett’s Bookof the seven episodes, episode six will be co-written by him and Filoni. Nothing more has been revealed about the plot of the chapter, but, given that Filoni will be directing one episode, a top commenter on Reddit suggested that would be how the series would present Cad Bane, given that Boba and he were unused. Star Wars: The Clone Wars the story.
First introduced in The Clone Wars Season 1 finale “Hostage Crisis”, Bane (Corey Burton) – one of the show’s original characters – quickly became a recurring and fan-favorite villain. Notable Bane-centric stories include successfully stealing a Holocron from the Jedi Temple and participating in a plot by multiple bounty hunters to kidnap Chancellor Palpatine, with Obi-Wan impersonating another mercenary to sabotage the plan. .
Bane and Boba Fett, voiced by Fett’s Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones actor Daniel Logan, never interacted before The Clone Wars‘ initial cancellation. However, Filoni confirmed that a future, unaired Clone The Wars storyline would have seen the Legacy and the aspiring bounty hunter go on a mission together, only to end in a dead-end duel. Existing raw animation footage for this episode also revealed how the fight would have ended: with Boba killing Bane but, in turn, receiving the iconic bump on his Mandalorian helmet.
Due to this unaired episode of The Clone Wars, Bane’s relationship with star wars continuity has become looser, with rumors of a Boba Fett’s Book cameo last September. Most recently, Bane made a surprise return to Disney+’s post-Clone Wars show. The bad lot, stealing the Omega clone – whose unaltered genetic makeup technically makes her sister Fett – from the titular Bad Batch in order to hand her over to the Empire. However, a fight between Bane and a young Fennec Shand, an original character from The Mandalorian which now serves as Boba Fett’s Book, allows Omega to escape, leaving Bane’s fate unknown.
Through Filoni and Favreau The Mandalorian, known The Clone Wars characters like Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan Kryze have made their way into live-action territory. Future Disney+ programs, like the next one Ahsoka show, will further introduce the characters of star wars rebels in order to continue the story of this animated series. More recently, Boba Fett’s Book introduced Black Krrsantan, an ongoing Marvel Wookiee bounty hunter star wars comics that has an established history with Boba Fett. It’s unclear if other characters from the comics, such as rogue archaeologist Doctor Aphra, will also make a Boba Fett book cameo.
